Birnin Gwari was gripped with emotion as Governor Uba Sani reopened the Kara Livestock Market, marking the return of peace and stability to the troubled community.

The reopening is the result of sustained dialogue between the Kaduna State Government and bandits, facilitated by the Peace Dialogue Group in collaboration with federal agencies and security services.
The non-kinetic effort paid off as several senior bandit leaders and their followers laid down their arms to embrace peace.
Governor Sani welcomed the repentant bandits, who are now enrolled in a rehabilitation programme jointly designed by the Kaduna State and Federal Governments.
While addressing the mammoth crowd, Governor Uba Sani praised the resilience of the people of Birnin Gwari and expressed optimism for the community’s future. “This reopening is a victory for peace, dialogue, and resilience. Together, we are turning a new page for Birnin Gwari,” he said.
