Environmental council, health professional bodies signs MoU

The Environmental Health Council of Nigeria( ECHON)  has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with  Societal for Environmental Health and Public Health of Nigeria, Environmental Health and Public Health  Association of Nigeria and West African Health Examination Board to boost the profession to the next level .

The Registrar/CEO of  EHCON, Yakubu Baba made this known to journalists yesterday in Abuja , during the mile stone ceremony.

Baba said the collaboration is aimed at enhancing capacity, strengthen partnerships, and drive innovative solutions to environmental health challenges.

He said, “Together, these bodies commit to advancing policies and practices that benefit public health, improve environmental management, and contribute to a healthier, sustainable future for all Nigerians.

“These are research development and renovation arm of the profession.

“ There is no organization that can survive without research development, innovation and capacity building.

He said the society is one of the stakeholders that we think we can leverage on their resources to be able to address the capacity gap that is existing within the profession.

He said that the MOU  is very  significant because it is now resulting to a seamless examination of members through this signing.

Similarly, the President  Society for Environmental and Public Health of Nigeria, prof. Agwu Nkwa Amadi  said the  signing of the MoU is a great milestone for  the professional body, which encourages members  for  contributions of  ideas in research for the survival of  environmental public health.

The National President Environmental and Public Health Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Dr. Akingbegm Samuel called on the public to embrace and register with this mega body that tend to unite,bridge gaps and attend to the yearning of every one.

Meanwhile,  the Secretary/Registrar  of West Africa Health Examination Board, Mrs Oladejo Bola,  said the signing is for proper implementation of the MoU through capacity building, more efficient and a more focused professional development.
