B/Haram: Buni applauds army for successes recorded in Yobe

The Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni has commended the efforts of Nigeria Army, for successes recorded against insurgency, improvement of peace and security in the state.
Governor started this in Buni Yadi, while the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, Christmas luncheon with frontline troops, organised by Sector 2 Hadin Kai, at Buni-Gari of Gujba local government area.
Buni, represented by Commissioner, Ministry of Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation, Alhaji Aji Yerima Bularafa, said the Nigerian Army has evidently recorded tremendous successes against war on insurgency.
He added that the security situation in the state has tremendously improved.
The Governor said, “Yobe state is one of the most peaceful in the Northeast of Nigeria.
“State government will continue to support the Nigerian Army and other security agencies within the limit of its resources.
“Principally, the State Government has provided support in the form of medical services and consumables, vehicles, and equipment maintenance as well as other forms of logistics and operations support to the forces deployed in the state.
“I also take this opportunity to draw the attention of the military to intensify surveillance and clearance operations in Yunusari, Geidam, Gujba and other Local Government Areas bordering Borno state to check possible surprises by the insurgents.”
When addressing the frontline troops at Buni- Gari, the Commander, Sector 2 Joint Task Force North-East Operation Hdin Kai, Maj-Gen MCE Ejike, said the Christmas lunch was an avenue for officers and men in the front line to come together for merriment and enhance comradeship.
He revealed that the kind of laudable gesture which emanated from the sterling leadership qualities of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) is also aimed at motivating the troops as well as enhancing comradeship among personnel.
He appreciated the COAS for his support for the event in particular and for his unwavering commitment at enhancing professionalism and regimentation in the Nigerian Army.
He also reiterated that “the pivot of our operations here in the Theatre is firmly hinged on the COAS Command Philosophy which is, I quote, ‘To consolidate the transformation of the Nigerian Army towards bequeathing a well motivated and combat ready force that can discharge its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi agency environment”.
