An individual identified as Ibrahim Suleiman, a 35-year-old resident of Misau Local Government Area in Bauchi State, has been accused of engaging in fraudulent activities by impersonating Ambassador (Dr.) Fatima Mohammed Goni.

In a statement signed by Ambassador Goni, who is the Founder and Chairman of the Grassroots Mobilizers for Better Nigeria Initiative (GMBNI), and issued to journalists in Abuja on Monday, Suleiman allegedly forged letterheads and membership forms bearing her name.

According to the statement, Suleiman falsely claimed to be a volunteer staff member of GMBNI and extorted money from various women’s groups, promising them financial assistance. He is also accused of facilitating the opening of bank accounts for unsuspecting victims as part of his scheme.

Ambassador Goni categorically disassociated herself from Suleiman and his activities, stating, “The letters, messages, and application forms purportedly issued under my name are fraudulent and unauthorized. Ibrahim Suleiman is not affiliated with me or my organization in any capacity.”

The statement urged the public to disregard any claims or correspondence from Suleiman and to exercise caution in their dealings.

“We call on anyone who has received communication or financial requests from this individual to report the matter to law enforcement authorities immediately,” Goni added.
