The New Niger Agricultural Revolution has received a boost with the allocation of 60 hectares of land to Niger Food and Logistics on a lease agreement by the

Suragi community in Mokwa Local Government Area of the state.

Mokwa Council Chairman, Jibrin Abdullahi Muregi who is leading the negotiations with other communities to mobilize over 200 hectares of land within a few days aimed to harness the vast agricultural potential of the local government.

The village head, Ahmadu Alhasan, emphasized that the decision to lease the land was in recognition of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s agricultural development efforts.

In his remarks, the Director Community Engagement of Niger Food, Muhammad Danjuma said the leased land will not only be cultivated but will also serve as a processing hub, taking advantage of its access to water and suitability for rice farming.

He added that this development is expected to contribute significantly to the state’s agricultural growth aimed at feeding the nations.
