Senate President, David Mark yesterday traveled to Brazil alongside sports minister, Tammy Danagogo and former FIFA executive committee member, Amos Adamu.
The trip to Brazil will see the Nigerian delegation discuss with FIFA top shots, on the current crisis rocking Nigerian football. They were initially scheduled to travel to the South American country today, and there has been a slight change in plans.
A source informed Peoples Daily Sports that “the Senate President will now be travelling with the sports minister and some top football officials.”
Amos Adamu, the former FIFA and CAF executive committee member will lead the talks with FIFA and there are strong indications that Nigeria will escape any suspension from world football’s governing body.
Several executive committee members of the Aminu Maigari – led NFF board have already with the current dispensation.
“From all indications, FIFA will not suspend Nigeria from international football as nothing less than five members of the Maigari led NFF board will also be on the plane to Brazil,” the source further informed.
The delegation will also comprise of former NFF General-Secretary, Bolaji Ojo-Oba; and Executive committee members of the Maigari-led NFF, Effiong Johnson and Shehu Adamu.
