The Bauchi state Police Command has arrested two suspects over alleged armed robbery and possession of prohibited fire arms in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO of the Command, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil explained this to reporters in Bauchi.
He said Abubakar Yakubu and Almustapha Hassan were arrested following intelligence information received by the Command indicated that the suspects were in possession of locally-made firearms.
Wakil said upon receiving the report, the Command’s operatives, in collaboration with the Peace and Security Committee, swiftly located the suspects’ residence and got them apprehended.
He said after conducting search, two fabricated pistols were found hidden in the ceiling of the suspects’ room.
CSP Wakil explained that, during interrogation, the suspects confessed to have purchased the firearms from an anonymous source in the Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi.
