Retired Immigration Chief, Sule Ibrahim, Emerges Oganenigu Community Leader, Unveils Development Agenda

Date:

Retired Chief Superintendent of Immigration, Sule Ibrahim, has emerged as the new leader of the Oganenigu Community.

Ibrahim’s wealth of experience, garnered from 35 years of service to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has instilled optimism among Oganenigu sons and daughters worldwide.

As the community leader, Ibrahim is expected to spearhead various self-help developmental initiatives, collaborating with government institutions, the throne of Egena of Oganenigu, other Gagos, and youth leaders.

His primary focus areas will include peace and security, economic empowerment, aggressive revenue mobilization, education, infrastructure development, agriculture, and restoring the community’s lost glory.

“Everything starts and ends with leadership,” Ibrahim emphasised, underscoring the importance of proper planning, citing Abraham Lincoln’s quote, “If given eight hours to cut down a tree, he will use six hours to sharpen his axe.”

To address the community’s challenges, Ibrahim plans to establish regular multi-stakeholder dialogues, promote economic activities, and explore alternative funding sources, including diaspora funding.

He also aims to revive the community’s agricultural sector by reintroducing the seed distribution approach and seeking expertise from the State and Federal Ministries of Agriculture.

Ibrahim acknowledged the significance of education in the community’s development, proposing the establishment of a task force to monitor and enhance educational standards.

The Oganenigu Community is optimistic about Ibrahim’s leadership, hoping that his experience and vision will bring about positive change and development.

Oganenigu, a rural gem in Kogi State, boasts an impressive array of natural and human resources. Situated 50 kilometres off Anyigba, the commercial nerve centre of Igala land, and 47 kilometres north of Dekina, the headquarters of Dekina local government of Kogi State is blessed with an abundance of resourceful individuals, lush forests, a favourable environment, and fertile vegetation capable of feeding the entire state.
