Gombe FRSC commander refutes allegations of extortion by officers

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Gombe state has refuted allegations meted on the command that its personnels extorts money from road users.

Sector commander of the corps, Mr. Samson Kaura who denied the allegations in his office during an interview with our correspondent on Friday insisted that those behind the allegations should come out with evidence and prove to their allegations.

He said the Corps is a law abiding organization that will not carryout such unwarranted behavior by extorting money from road users in the state.

According to him, all of its personnels operating within Gombe and environs have name tag on their uniforms and that the general public are free to report any personnel to the command, saying that their doors are open to listen to any complain, adding that if a personnel found wanting will be sanction appropriately.

The sector commander while explaining further assured the public of the command readiness to prosecute anyone found guilty.
