Ramadan: Al-Habibiyyah chair appeals for feeding of less privileged

The chairman, of Al-Habibiyyah Islamic society in Gwagwalada area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Dawud Sulaiman, has appealed to highly placed Muslims in the society to endeavour to provide food for the less privileged ones in this period of Ramadan fasting, so as to boost their morale.

Speaking with newsmen at a special Ramadan lecture organised by the society, in Gwagwalada, he said Muslims should deem it necessary to carry out their fasting accordance with the teaching of Prophet Mohammed.

Stressing that slam abhors violence in any form in the society; he urged both Muslims and Christians to embrace each other irrespective of their religious differences.

He also urged Muslim brothers and sisters to remain united irrespective of their Islamic affiliations, saying that Islam is a religion of peace.

He therefore, used the occasion to call on politicians across the country to shun politics of bitterness.

On his part, the national Imam of the Al-Habibiyyah Islamic society, Sheikh Imam Fuad Adeyemi, who delivered a lecture entitled “Reviving the True Spirit of Ramadan”, described the month of Ramadan as a month calling for action by the Almighty God.

He pleaded with the Muslim to be conscious of God throughout this month of Ramadan, pointing out that it was the period that the Holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet Mohammed.

While commenting on the security situation of the in the FCT and the country at large, the guest lecturer identified insecurity as war against Nigeria by insurgents.
