The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its timetable for the November 8 off-cycle governorship election in Anambra state, with the primary election slated for March 29.

This was part of the decisions taken at a protracted meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling party late on Thursday.

According to the adopted timetable, the NWC equally fixed the sum of N50 million for the purchase of the nomination and expression of interest forms.

A source at the meeting revealed that the party also gave weavers and discounts for female aspirants, the youths and the physically challenged aspirants as the case may be.

“In line with the tradition of the party in ensuring level playing grounds for everybody, female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWD), aspirants are to purchase the nomination forms free, while youths under the ages between 25 to 40 are to purchase the forms with 50% discount”.

The adopted schedule also stated that all the nomination forms will be available for purchase at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

In a related development, the NWC equally resolved that all the delegates that would vote in the primary will in addition to being card carrying members of the party for at least three months, also purchase the form with N5,000, adding that they must be financially up-to-date within the stipulated time.

The sale and return of the nomination forms will commence on Monday, February 10 and end on Tuesday, February 25.
