Amba highlighted the scheme’s positive impact, noting that many teachers had been able to build personal houses and establish businesses with the benefits received from it.

According to the NUT President, the previous administration did not support the scheme, despite efforts by union leaders to enlighten the government on its importance.

“The scheme was entirely funded by teachers from their hard-earned salaries without any financial contribution from the government. Yet, the previous administration sabotaged and eventually stopped it,” he lamented.

Amba expressed gratitude to Governor Sani for reinstating the scheme and urged teachers to remain diligent in their duties.

“We must continue to give our best in our workplaces so that we can enjoy more welfare dividends under the governor’s administration,” he added.
