The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment (FMITI) has signed a performance bond, marking a significant step towards enhancing efficiency and accountability in programme execution. The signing followed a two-day retreat led by the Honourable Minister, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole.

A key outcome of the retreat was the unveiling of FMITI’s 2025 Roadmap, outlining strategic initiatives aimed at transforming Nigeria’s industrial sector.

A notable development was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between FMITI and the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation. The partnership is expected to improve digitization, performance management systems, and capacity building within the ministry.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Oduwole described the agreement as a “pivotal moment” for the ministry. “When I received a congratulatory letter from the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, I recognized it as a unique opportunity.

“Our digital transformation journey is just beginning, and with a 2025 deadline looming, this partnership is vital for accelerating our progress,” she said.

She also commended FMITI’s leadership for aligning with the Presidential Eight-Point Agenda, highlighting innovative strategies presented by various departments and agencies to drive economic growth.

With the performance bond now in place, key officials, including CEOs, Directors, and Heads of Trade Missions, have reaffirmed their commitment to achieving measurable results. The ministry aims to leverage Nigeria’s vast industrial and trade potential, positioning the country as a global economic powerhouse.
