The Adamawa State House of Assembly has adopted a report of its Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development prohibiting discrimination against persons with disability.

The Assembly yesterday took a firm stand when it adopted the committee’s report on a bill for a law to repeal Adamawa State Disability Right Commission Law No.14 of 2016 and to re-enact Adamawa State Persons with Disability Law Commission.

The legislation is to ensure full integration of persons with disability into society and to prohibit any form of discrimination against such persons.

The adoption of the report was arrived at after it was presented and considered at the Wednesday plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Bathiya Wesley.
