 Following the banned placed on Nigeria by the World Football Governing Body (FIFA) over government interference in football matter, a football pundit has called on Plateau State High Court billed to sit today and the minister of sports Dr. Tammy Danagogo to obey FIFA status for the interest of peace.

The PDP chieftain, Alhaji Aminu Balele Kurfi who made this call at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, said the minister need to play a vital role in resolving the crisis as well as internal differences between him and the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC) Hon. Gbega Elegbeleye.

The chairman of Kaduna state Tennis Association also said some stakeholders in the game have misinformed Nigerians over what transpired in Brazil that led to the crisis of dissolution of NFF board members and management staff by the football congress.

“I want the court to obey FIFA status by directing the sports minister to restored the NFF board members led by Alhaji Aminu Maigari in order to put an end to the crisis that led to FIFA banning Nigeria, barely one year that the minister came in, we are witness serious internal differences and global embarrassment, it would not talk good of him.

“The sacked board led by Alhaji Aminu Maigari has achieved and brought honor to Nigeria which Mr. President is proud of.

“I want Mr. President through the minister of sports to resolve this issue of ban by FIFA to enable our U-17 boys, U-20 girls and boys as well as Nations Cup qualifiers and the development of the game in Nigeria to continue, “Kurfi, explained.

He implored Nigerians and football stakeholders to rally round Mr. President at this challenging period to resolve the ban for the interest of those who earn living from football and our teeming youths.
