As part of International Women’s Day, IWD, the Jigawa State Environmental Protection Agency (JISEPA) with support from United Nation’s Children Education Fund (UNICEF) on Saturday flaged-off the training of 600 young women on turning waste to wealth in Jigawa state.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director Jigawa state Environmentsl Protection Agency (JISEPA) Sanitarian Adamu Sabo said, in Jigawa this year’s theme is : “Waste to Wealth Initiatives and Up-cycling: Transforming Straps into Marketable Products to Mitigate Climate Change.
He explained that, his agency decided not only to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women across the globe but also to highlight the innovative role that women in our communities are playing in environmental sustainability and economic development.
According to him, inclusion of women in environmental sustainability is not just a matter of equity but also a necessity for creating sustainable solutions.
