IWD: Group enrolls 50 pregnant women into Kaduna Health Insurance Scheme

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) has launched the enrollment of 50 pregnant women into the Kaduna State Health Insurance Scheme.

Speaking during the enrollment in Kaduna yesterday, the State Commissioner of Health Hajiya Umma K. Ahmed said the State recognizes that women face unique challenges, from accessing quality healthcare to bearing the burden of caregiving.

She added that they remain at the forefront of driving health outcomes for their families and communities.

The commissioner who was represented by the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Health Supplies Management Agency (KADHSMA), Pharm. Aisha Isyaku Tukur disclosed that the  State Government, under the leadership of Senator Uba Sani, remains committed to addressing these challenges.

He surmised that through initiatives like the Kaduna State Contributory Health Scheme, the State is working to ensure that more women, especially pregnant women and those from vulnerable populations, have access to affordable and quality healthcare.

” Today’s event, which includes the enrollment of additional pregnant women under the vulnerable population program, is a testament to the commitment.

“As we celebrate this important day, I urge all of us to renew our commitment to the women of Kaduna and to continue working together to ensure that no woman is left behind.

” Together, we can build a future where women’s rights are upheld, their voices are heard, and their contributions are fully recognized.”
