ABUJ Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has hosted former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, at his office in Abuja for discussions on national security and development.
During the meeting, both leaders deliberated on key issues, including security challenges and the collective responsibility of citizens to promote peace and unity across the country. Matawalle, a former Zamfara State governor, reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity through proactive measures.
Okorocha, a former senator and ex-governor, pledged his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiatives aimed at fostering a secure, prosperous, and inclusive nation. He also highlighted the long-standing friendship between him and Matawalle, recalling previous engagements when the latter served as Zamfara’s governor.
Matawalle expressed appreciation for Okorocha’s visit and commended his dedication to national development. He reiterated the need for collaboration among political leaders to address Nigeria’s challenges, emphasizing that “together, we will continue to build a meaningful and prosperous Nigeria.”
