The Executive Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council in the FCT, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin, has pledged to support the executives of Jeshi Progressive Movement (JPM) in all ramifications to achieve their goals.

Jibrin Giri, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Mohammed Sani Kashim while speaking to the People’s Daily Correspondent during the launching of JPM Logo at Angwan Jeshi on Thursday.

The Chairman charged the executives to deem it necessary to foster unity for the overall development of the association, adding that the executives as well as the members of the association should always behave well.

In his welcome speech at the occasion, the Chairman of JPM, Mr. Aliyu Mohammed, urged the executives as well as the members to work together for the progress of the association.

Speaking during one such tree planting exercise at a Government nursery, primary and secondary school, Mando in Igabi Local Government Area, y the Kaduna State Coordinator of Project ROOSC Mr. Ezra Angai said the project is part of the efforts of the Kaduna state government to plant a minimum of ten million trees starting from the schools.

He opined that spending time in nature, including tree planting, can have positive effects on mental health and well-being, as well as encouraging physical activities, an indication that greener school environments may be associated with improved academic performance.

“We made sure that there’s ownership for this project, from the principal to the teachers, religious and traditional leaders, stakeholders from the community.

“ We have collaborated with the Ministry of Education, NGOs, WISE, and WISOAK, who have helped us through the planning process and made provisions for some of the materials.

“We believe that the first stage of sustainability is the community as tree planting can foster a sense of community and collective actions as students work together towards a common goal of creating a greener and healthier environment. “
