As the National Sports Commission (NSC) seek for ways to upturning the suspension slammed on Nigeria by the World Football Governing Body, FIFA for supposed government involvement in the sacking of the Aminu Maigari led board, they have resorted to pleading with the Baribote family to withdraw the case from court.
Reports had it that the sports commission is doing everything within their power to see that the suspension is lifted before the commencement of the FIFA U-20 Women World cup billed to take place in Canada this month so as to enable the Nigeria team participate.
FIFA had told the Nigeria delegation that nothing can be done to the Nigeria case except the judgement that sacked the Maigari board is vacated by the court.
And as a way to heeding to FIFA order, the sports commission has invited Rumson Victor Bariote, whose wife got the court order that sacked Miagari for a meeting in Abuja. The purpose of the meeting is to prevail on him to take the case out of court.
That may not come so easy, as Victor Baribote who himself was slammed with a ban by the Aminu Maigari led board may only agree to do that on meeting several of the conditions which he plans to place before them.
Should the meeting between Baribote and the sports commission reach an amicable conclusion, the court case may be withdrawn yesterday or latest today.
On whether the NFF board will be returned to the offices after the court case is withdrawn remain to be seen as there is still the case of the congress that impeached them to be dealt with.
