Nasarawa PDP reconciling aggrieved members

Date:

….vows to reclaim power in 2027

By Musa Baba Adamu

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Nsarawa State has reiterated its stand to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general election and reclaim power.

The party said its internal wranglings would be resolved as mechanism of reconciliation has already been put in place to reconcile aggrieved members before the party enters into critical stages ahead of election in 2027.

State Chairman of the Party, Adamu Ninja stated this at a press conference in Lafia, explaining that the opposition PDP was much better in terms of performance in governance compared to what the APC has offered in the past.

According to him, APC in the state has failed and the PDP was ready to reboot itself, recall the party’s glorious past and move on to reclaim power from the All Progressives Congress.

PDP in Nasarawa insisted that it has capacity to lift the people out of abject poverty which it claimed was brought upon them by the APC under the current leadership.

“PDP in Nasarawa State will take power from the APC government because of their insensitivity to the plight of Nigerians”.

“Our aim is to form a government in Nasarawa in 2027. All our aggrieved members are ready to come back to the secretariat. Our desire is to reconcile our members.

“We are conscious of the fact that in the cause of the contest, we might have offended some people. We are preaching forgiveness and our people are ready to forgive one another in other to form a formidable force to wrestle powers from the already weak APC”, Ninga stated.

The party Chairman, who warned against selfishness amongst members ahead of 2027, said there was no reason for Nigerians to vote for a party without an agenda, not ready to provide good governance.

“Nasarawa is ready to retire APC in 2027 due largely to outright failure to secure the people, salvage the country from hardship, starvation and poverty.

PDP’s confidence is despite the party’s continuous loss of foothold in governance as the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori on Thursday announced his defection from PDP to APC.

A statement by Oborevwori’s Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, claimed the defection followed a high level meeting with political stakeholders in the state.

He said Delta State stands to benefit more in terms of infrastructure if it is repositioned in alignment with the Federal Government.
