N/East students pass confidence vote on Taraba ag. gov

The North East Student Forum has passed a vote of confidence on the Taraba State Executive Council led by its Acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar, and the State House of Assembly for harmonious working relationship that promotes good governance in the state.

The students in a communique after their NEC Session in Jalingo said the good relationship enjoyed by both arms of government has promoted students welfare, youths empowerment and curtailing the ethno religious crisis that engulfed the southern part of the state recently.

The communique signed by the forum chairman, Comrade Mohammed Auwal Jibrin and Secretary Comrade Muhammad Mu’azu said the state is delivering on the yearning and aspiration of the students both within and outside the state.

The forum which declared its support to the President Jonathan led administration, however called on the Federal Government to be proactive in approaching the insurgency within the North East states.

The forum also urged authorities of the institution of learning across the zone to intensify and review their security measures in other to ensure safety of lives of students.

“We also call for love, togetherness and cooperation among students which would enhance partnership with security agencies’” the students stated.
