As part of effort to reduce clashes between farmers and herders, the federal government has concluded arrangements to establish an Anti-riot (Mobile Police) unit in Guri local government area of Jigawa state.
The senator representing Jigawa north-East, senator Abdulhamid Ahmed Malam-Madori dropped the hint, while speaking on Sunday during the Jigawa State Government Citizen Engagement Programme (JSGCEP) tagged; “Gwamnati da Jamaa” at Guri local government area of the state.
The Senator also said, federal government will also construct 20 blocks of police barracks in the same local government, while federal government incollaboration with the Jigawa state would construct befitting one storey building for police station to be fully equipped with a modern security facilities in the local government headquarters.
“This is part of the federal and state governments collaborative efforts to ensure adequate and permanent security especially between fulani herdsmen and farmers in the area and beyond.”
