Kebbi Assembly congratulates Gov Idris, APC over defection of three Senators

The Kebbi State House of Assembly has congratulated Governor Nasir Idris and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the defection of three Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators from the state to the ruling party.

Speaker of the House, Muhammad Usman Zuru, in a statement issued on behalf of the Assembly described the development as a major boost for the APC in Kebbi State and a testament to the party’s growing appeal.

The lawmakers who defected are Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Senator Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Senator Garba Musa Maidoki (Kebbi South).

Their switch to the APC was formally announced at the National Assembly in Abuja.

“This momentous transition marks an encouraging development for our party and reflects a strong commitment to good governance and progressive leadership,” the Speaker said.

Zuru stated that the senators’ decision to align with the APC demonstrated their confidence in the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris and the party’s vision for unity and development.

“Their joining the APC will undoubtedly strengthen our grassroots efforts and support the mission to uplift Kebbi State and its people,” he added.

The Speaker further assured the governor of the Assembly’s continued support and collaboration with the new party members in delivering policies that promote economic growth, social welfare and sustainable development.

He expressed optimism that the defection would help consolidate the party’s influence and advance its goals for the people of Kebbi State.

“Congratulations once again on this significant milestone for the APC and for the future of our state,” the statement read.
