A beacon of hope has emerged for residents of Rugan Fulani, Dubai 1, and neighboring communities in Potiskum Local Government Area, as Barrister Kashim Musa Tumsah, a prominent lawyer and diplomat, funded the construction of a critical pedestrian bridge.

The initiative comes as a lifeline for flood-ravaged communities that have endured years of hardship, including loss of lives, disrupted education, and severe food shortages.

For years, the only access route for these communities has been rendered nearly impassable during the rainy season, trapping residents and cutting them off from essential services.

Mr. Hassan B. Joda, Chairman of the Construction Committee, said “This road has been in a deplorable state for years, damaging lives and property. During floods, children miss school, and even accessing food becomes a struggle.”
