By Jude Opara, Abuja

As President Bola Tinubu marks his second year anniversary, no fewer than 250 All Progressives Congress (APC) women support groups from all parts of the country have concluded plans and intensively mobilizing to convene a mass rally of two-million members in June for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.

Disclosing this in Abuja at the National Secretariat of the APC on Tuesday, during the inauguration of executive members of the Alliance of APC Registered Women Support Groups, the National Woman Leader of the party, Dr. Mary Idele Alile, said the rally would be used to show support of women for the reelection of the President.

Dr. Alile added that the rally was being convened because comparatively, since independence, no administration has so taken care of the interest of women more than the present administration of President Tinubu.

She urged the assembled zonal leaders to immediately begin to engage in aggressive mobilisation of loyal female supporters in their zones and ensure that the mass rally scheduled for June 26, 2025 becomes an outright success ahead of 2027 general elections.

“Until now, women’s voice are not being heard but since this administration came, things have changed and we are being properly represented and are being listened to by the government.

“Women need to be at the forefront of national politics by pushing for their rights,” Alile said.

She further added that women aspirants who purchased forms for chairmanship and councillorship positions in the coming Federal Capital Territory (FCT) elections are heroines who should be encouraged by fellow women.

The National Women’s Leader also praised the contributions of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) to the growth of women, even as she added that women still expect more from the governors to push women up the ladder of self-reliance and growth.
