Peter Obi donates N20m to Mokwa flood victims

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, at the 2023 elections, Mr Peter Obi has donated N20 million naira to the flash flood victims support fund in Mokwa local government area of Niger state.

He made the donation during his condolence and sympathy visit to Niger state, where he further assured to pay on the spot assessment visit to the community to also sympathize with the people.

The former governor of Anambra state expressed shock over the high rate of death recorded during the disaster.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims and for God to grant their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Niger State Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba has disclosed that close to 1,000 people were still missing and 200 bodies were recovered and buried as at last count, while search and assessment is still ongoing.
