Constitutional Breaches; AOIYEO to Drag FG to Court over violations of Indigenous Rights

The President of the Organisation Amb. Issac David stated this at the weekend in Abuja during his interaction with the media on burning issues affecting the FCT indigenes.

Amb. Isaac while lamenting the continuous neglect of both judicial pronouncements in their favoured and the constitution provisions related to the indigenous people of FCT. make’s demans for the creation of political structures in FCT and inclusiveness in decision making / policy implementation that are affecting them

” At this juncture, may we sound vehemently but with all sense of responsibility that should the Authority, i.e. the President, National Assembly failed, refused or neglect to put in place necessary Mechanisms for Elections of our Governor and Members of FCT House of Assembly before the 2027 General Elections,

” we the Original Inhabitants of FCT shall not only boycott all Elections in 2027 but would do all it takes by all Legal means to stop the INEC from operating in its Headquarters located in FCT, (our ancestral land) to carry out its Functions and Duties for the 2027 General Elections including Stopping the Announcement of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections results in FCT, Abuja. The INEC may relocate to another part of the Country to carry out such Functions and Duties.

” Perhaps, we may approach Courts of Competent jurisdiction to challenge the Constitutional breaches of the President and the National Assembly as relates to the Original Inhabitants of the FCT by virtue of Sections 1(2), 2, 3(1); 4; 42, and 299 of the 1999 Constitution.

” Alternatively, where the Courts will be a delay or barricade or inaccessible, we shall resort to civil Disobedience by way of non-violent approach and a call for International Communities’ Intervention to salvage us from the internal colonialism, oppression and domination by our fellow Citizens in pursuit of our rights as enshrined in the International Conventions or treaties that Nigeria is Signatory to.
All we’re asking for, is Justice for Equal Rights and Freedom from Discrimination of our Political Administrative Rights “.
