The Concerned Global Alliance for Vaccine Initiative (GAVI) staff employed by the Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NSPHCDA), has appealed to governor Mohammed Umar Bago to fast-track their absorption into permanent employment of the state.

The group in a letter dated 10th July ,2025 to the governor titled: Request for Absorption into  Permanent Employment, Payment of Salaries, lamented that for over five months, they have not been paid salaries-making lives more difficult for the engaged health workers in Niger state.

According to the letter, they were fully  engaged in May 2023 under a contract appointment to expand the availability of Human Resources for Health (HRH) in Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities across the state’s 25 Local Government Areas of the state.
