G/Lada Chairman tasks new NULGE officials on inclusive leadership

The chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri, has urged new officials of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) to always take everybody along in its scheme of things, to ensure support for the sustainable development of the council.
Giri, who was represented by the council’s Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Saba, expressed joy the manner at which the leadership of NULGE had been piloting the affairs of the union in the council, noting that workers are the engine room of the council.
He spoke at the council Chamber, where the staff of the Council endorsed and affirmed the new executive of NULGE, on Tuesday.
He, therefore, felicitated with the executive members of the NULGE at the National level as well as the officials of NULGE in Gwagwalada for their understanding and maturity.
Speaking in an interview after the affirmation exercise, the Deputy National President in the FCT, comrade David J. Iyah, advised the newly elected officers of the union to provide purposeful leadership capable of satisfying \ the aspirations of staff in the council.
Iyah charged the council’s chairman to deem it fit to create a synergy between the management of the Area Council and the union for the overall development of the council.
Similarly, in his acceptance speech, the newly affirmed chairman of NULGE in Gwagwalada, comrade Emmanuel Musa, expressed gratitude to God for opportunity accorded to him again, as the chairman of the union in the council.
He said: “I will not in any condition or choice allowed my personal interest to over shadow my core-responsibility in office. And I promised to be your ‘Servant Leader’ and not a ‘Bos.
“it is paramount to note that the ideology of the unionism is “Dialogue” and not “Confrontation” unless prove otherwise.
“Therefore, we shall exhaust all the avenues of dialoguing of getting things done inshallah”.
Our correspondent reports that the swearing- in of the new officials was carried out by the National Trustee of NULGE, Abubakar A. Yakub, and the Certificate of Return was presented to the executives by the National President of NULGE in the FCT, comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Kabi.
