A close associate of the former head of state General Muhammadu Buhari, and APC National Vice Chairman Northeast, Engr. David Lawal, has said that the former Head of State will again run for the Presidency on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015.

In an interview with reporters in Abuja yesterday, Lawal said “I can bet it with anybody that Gen. Buhari remains a viable candidate for the highest office and will run for the presidency in 2015, take my words.”

The vice chairman, who dismissed the issue of old age as reason some people think may work against the General, asked how old is President Goodluck Jonathan? “He is a little over fifty and he runs the worst government ever produced to the extent that, even my uncle Obasanjo, if you dig very well, he might probably be over 80 and he did it better, because during his regime  at least there was relative peace.”

The APC chieftain who said Buhari “is a gentle and approachable leader’” believed that most people don’t trust some of the younger aspirants parading themselves for the same position.

“I am open to another candidate from the North, but that candidate must demonstrate the ability to bring out the voters, because we want to win this election. APC is not in this election for its members to

enjoy themselves and have a good time. We want to remove a bad government. We want to replace this bad government with a good one.

“Some of these young guys you don’t argue with them. You can argue with Buhari, because he is humble. I mean he is approachable. May be now that they have tried to kill him, they may tightened the security around him. That is why when some people say I should take them to him I say look, when I go to your house I spend two hours at the gate but when I go to Buhari’s house, I drive in straight,” he said.
