CNYCM Slams ‘Faceless’ Group’s Petition as ‘Baseless’ and ‘Self-Serving’

The Coalition of Northern Youth Consultative Movement (CNYCM) has warned faceless groups, specifically the Northern Youth for Peace and Progress, against meddling in Senate affairs.

In a statement signed by Comrade Yusuf Musa Audu Bilal Galadima, National Coordinator and National Secretary, the CNYCM described the group’s petition as “dead on arrival,” accusing them of attempting to sow division and curry favor with politicians.

The CNYCM emphasized that Nigeria’s institutions should not be held hostage by faceless groups that trade in blackmail and thrive on headlines rather than substance. They warned that the Senate would not be swayed by such tactics, affirming the leadership of the Security and Intelligence Committee would continue unimpeded. The CNYCM urged Nigerians to see through these groups’ tactics and recognize their lack of credibility.

The CNYCM emphasized that Nigeria’s institutions should not be held hostage by faceless groups who trade in blackmail and thrive on headlines rather than substance. The CNYCM has responded to a petition by the Northern Youth for Peace and Progress, which called for the review of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence leadership. The group behind the petition claims it’s non-partisan, aiming to promote accountability and transparency in the Senate’s security oversight. However, the CNYCM has dismissed the petition as baseless and motivated by selfish interests, accusing the group of being “rented voices” and “opportunists” seeking to curry favor with politicians.
