The Jigawa State House of Assembly has passed into law a bill to appropriate the sum of N75 billion as supplementary budget for the 2025 fiscal year.
The passage of the bill followed the adoption of the report of the House Committee on Appropriation read on the floor of the House during the plenary session presided over by the Deputy Speaker Right, Sani Isyaku Abubakar yesterday.
The Committee Chairman, Ibrahim Hamza Adamu said the report contained the 2025 budget review and Supplementary appropriation Bill in the sum of N58 billion for state and the sum of N17.109 billion for the 27 Local Governments.
State Deputy Speaker, Alhaji Sani Isyaku Abubakar said, the funds would be used for infrastructural development, healthcare services, youth empowerment among others.
The Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, had in December 2024 presented the N698.3 billion as 2025 budget with the supplementary now increased to N756.3 billion.
The supplementary budget will enhance ongoing projects and programs across critical sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and other developmental projects.
