Tinubu decorates service chiefs with new ranks

President Bola has decorated the newly appointed service chiefs with their news ranks.

The brief ceremony took place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa Abuja on Thursday.

Recall that Tinubu made some changes in the hierarchy of the service chiefs last Friday.

The President hinged his action on efforts to strengthen the national security architecture.

Accordingly, he appointed General Olufemi Oluyede to replace General Christopher Musa as the new Chief of Defence Staff.

Tinubu also announced Major-General Wahidi Shaibu as the new Chief of Army Staff. Then followed by naming Air Vice Marshall Sunday Kelvin Aneke as Chief of Air Staff and Rear Admiral Idi Abbas as the new Chief of Naval Staff.

He retained Major-General Emmanuel Undiendeye who is Chief of Defence Intelligence may become elevated to Lieutenant General.

Following their decoration on Thursday,
Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede has become General Oluyede.

Major-General Wahidi Shaibu who is new Chief of Army Staff has been elevated to a Lieutenant General.

Air Vice Marshall Sunday Kelvin Aneke the Chief of Air Staff has also been elevated to Air Marshall, while Rear Admiral Idi Abbas the new Chief of Naval Staff got promoted to Admiral.

The service chiefs were all screened by the National Assembly on Wednesday.
