Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has expressed the firm optimism that he will emerge victorious in his re-election bid come next year.

The Osun State governorship election is scheduled to take place August 8, 2026.

Adeleke, while answering questions from Journalists on Thursday after being screened by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at its Legacy House annex office in Maitama, Abuja, was highly confident that his achievement in office in the past three years will speak for him.

In the words of the Osun State Governor, who is popularly known as ‘Imole’ by his supporters, “I’m so confident I’m going to win. If I can defeat an incumbent, and now that I’m the governor, within two years, it’s unprecedented what we have achieved in less than three years. I’m so confident that nobody can beat us there”.

“More goodies all the way, more goodies all the way throughout Osun State! We’ll be dancing, and we’ll be working”, he declared.

Asked if he is scared of the possible use of federal might, the Governor responded, “Scared? How can I be scared? I’m too popular! Anywhere I go, you love me and I love you! Hey, everybody says Imole”.

“So, I mean, you see, if you’re not performing, that’s when you’ll be scared. When you have your people behind you, you don’t have to fear.

“During my first term, I mean, the federal might was there. I saw the equipment, I saw the resources. But now, that same federal might, I don’t think the President will want to do something that will mess his administration up.
