Benue state governor, Gabriel Suswam has said the on-going strike by civil servants in the State should not disrupt commercial activities such as banking, markets and transport operation.

In a statement signed by Director, Media and Public Affairs to the Governor Mr. James Uloko, the Governor noted that the strike does not in any way concern them and urged them to resume normal commercial activities.

However, it is observed that in spite of the governor’s passionate appeal, most banks including Union Bank, Access bank, Zenith Bank amongst others did not open to customers. These banks were under lock and key with security men manning them even as large customers were seen stranded around them.
