127 ,041 unemployed youths empowered in Bauchi,says Yuguda

Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state has said that his administration have empowered and trained over 127,041 unemployed youth from across the state in various skills since its inception in 2007.

He also said 4000 youths under the newly created youth and women empowerment programme have passed out

Governor Yuguda made the declaration during the passing out of 4000 youth trainees under the newly created programme Youth And Gender Upliftment Development Agenda, YOU-GUDA ,at the Adult And Non Formal Education Institute, Kangyre, Bauchi yesterday

According to him, his administration has focused on creating an enabling environment for youth empowerment, especially in the area of sustainable livelihoods for youth.

Yuguda said “the youth will be engaged in various community services such as health ,education security , environment and sanitation and each of the graduates will receive a monthly allowance of N10, 000 “

The Governor, stressed that the participants have been selected from each and every wards of the state. Adding that special consideration was also given to women and the physically challenged.

Yuguda, pointed out that the World Bank has agreed to support the state through the Youth Employment and Social Support Operation, YESSO, where 12,350 youths and women will be engaged in the first phase which is starting within the 3rd quarter of this year.
