The immediate past Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki has hailed the victory of governor of Nassarawa State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura at the investigative panel set up by the House of Assembly members. The former Governor in a statement by his media aide, Mr Bamikole Omisore on Wednesday, noted his appearance before the panel showed that he is good leader.
“I congratulate my brother, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, on his unequivocal vindication by the investigative panel set-up by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) controlled Nassarawa State House of Assembly.
“His appearance at the panel investigation despite his belief that the processes were faulty and his exoneration, once again shows that quality and faultless leadership, cannot be taken out for political gain, using illegitimate means.
“Governor Al-Makura must also be commended for his conduct during this hearing, which was clearly nothing but a political witch-hunt aimed at once again subverting democracy and the will of the people by the PDP and its proxies.
“By choosing to subject himself to the rule and the process of the law, Governor Al-Makura has shown that he has nothing to hide, as no stones were left unturned by the investigative panel.”,Saraki stated He appealed to all those who are desperate for power at all cost and those whose ambition appears to be more important than the sustainability of Nigeria’s democracy and the peace and stability of the country to desist immediately from these acts of desperation Saraki commended the courage of the people of Nassarawa for standing firm in their belief for equity and justice and in defending their mandate and saying no to any attempt by anyone or group to take away their mandate through the back door. He also commended the Nassarawa judiciary particularly the VCJ and the panel members for doing right thing despite the intimidation.
“You have all written your names in gold in the history books”. He said Saraki urged all Nigerians, and the people of Nassarawa to support Governor Al-Makura as he gets back to working for the great people of the ‘Home of Solid Minerals’, Nassarawa State.
