Dike resumes training

Date:

Super Eagles striker, Bright Dike, has resumed full training with his Major Soccer League side, Toronto FC, after a long injury layoff. Dike got injured in February while training with his club and subsequently missed the World Cup as Nigeria exited at the second round stage of the competition in Brazil. The 27-year-old was tipped for great things with the Super Eagles but the injury, a second major one in his career put paid to that development after a blistering start to his Nigeria career, scoring two goals in four games. The burly striker says he is now ready to get going again as he feels he is gradually getting back to his best and is itching to get into action. “It feels great, I mean I’ve been waiting so long, so anxious to get back on the pitch, it feels like Christmas for me,” he said. Dike made his Nigeria debut against Venezuela in 2012 in a 3-1 win over the South Americans at the Marlins Park Stadium in Miami, Florida.
