The National Working Caretaker Committee (NWCC) of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP), loyal to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom lWike/Senator Samuel Anyanwu has announced the dissolution of State Working Committees (SWC) of the party in fourteen states in the country.

The NWCC of the party, which declared that PDP has only one legitimate national leadership, under the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led acting National Chairmanship, warned Barrister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, who was elected at the party’s national convention last month in Ibadan, Oyo State, to stop parading himself as its National Chairman.

These were contained in a communique issued at the end of the National Working Caretaker Committee meeting held on Tuesday in Abuja.

The NWCC, which ratified the dissolution of the affected fourteen state working committees, has, consequently, confirmed the caretaker committees in those states.

The National Working Caretaker Committee has further assigned portfolios to some of its members “for effective discharge of the duties conferred on them”.

The communiqué, read by the Acting Publicity Secretary, Haruna Jungun, maintained that the PDP is firmly under the leadership of Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, dismissing claims of parallel structures within the party.

The NWCC warned individuals and groups it accused of attempting to drag the image of the party into disrepute to desist from such actions.

It specifically described as false, reports circulating in the media that the group led by Tanimu Turaki (SAN) had been recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The NWCC challenged Turaki to publicly produce the INEC upload code, which he used to submit his executive list, noting that no such recognition exists.

The NWCC, in the communique, said, “There is only one genuine and legitimate PDP, headed by Honorable Abdulrahman Mohammed.

“It is important to let the public know that the claims making round in the media that the Turaki illegal Excos have been accepted by INEC are false. We therefore challenged Turaki to produce the code with which he uploaded his Exco to INEC portal.

“The National Caretaker Committee further ratified the dissolution of some state working committees while confirming the caretaker committees in those states.

“The names of those states are: Borno, Bauchi, Oyo, Zamfara, Yobi, Ekiti, Bayelsa, Enugu, Ebonyi, Anambra, Delta, Taraba, Kano, and Lagos.
