In the spirit of the 2025 festive season, the Nigerian First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, through the Taraba State Chapter of the Christian Northern Nigeria Political Forum (CNNPF) has distributed over 1,000 bags of rice to less privileged persons across Taraba State
The distribution exercise was held at the Nurses’ House in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, with beneficiaries drawn from various local government areas across the State.
Speaking during the exercise, the National Secretary of the Forum, Mr. Emmanuel Mijinyawa, described Senator Oluremi Tinubu as “a compassionate leader and a true mother who consistently demonstrates concern for the welfare of the less privileged”.
He explained that the food items were provided to ensure that vulnerable persons across the state can celebrate the Christmas season with dignity.
Also speaking, the Taraba State Coordinator of the Forum, Mr. Andeskifun Joseph expressed profound appreciation to the First Lady for the kind gesture and assured that the rice would be equitably distributed to those who genuinely need support.
He also urged beneficiaries to continue to pray for and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife.
Mr. Gideon Jonah, who represented the Member for Ardokola State Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Happy Shorunbu, encouraged beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by supporting the Tinubu administration and participating actively in the democratic process, including voting in the 2027 general election.
Beneficiaries of the donation expressed joy and gratitude for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. They pledged their unflinching support for the Tinubu administration and its re-election bid.
As part of the outreach programme, the Forum also visited the UMCN Orphanage at Mile Six, Jalingo, where additional bags of rice were donated to support the welfare of the children and caregivers at the facility.
Spokesperson for the Forum Comrade Job Sahero told our Correspondent that the Forum focuses on bridging detrimental gaps in the society by providing succour to the less privileged, sensitizing the populace against unhealthy practices in public space and encouraging active participation in the political process among several other activities.
