JigawaUNITE flags-off distribution of 57,000 learning/teaching materials to 250 schools

The Jigawa State government through Unified New Improvement of Teaching and Education (JigawaUNITE) has flagged off distribution of over 57,000 assorted curriculum textbooks across 250 schools in the state.
Speaking during the flags-off ceremony held at Ansaruddeen Primary School Kiyawa, the executive chairman Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Professor Haruna Musa explained that, the programme is an innovative spearheaded by Jigawa state Governor to revolutionize education in the state in partnership with NewGLOBE.
“We are focusing on improving teaching methods with the training of the first phase of 1,480 teachers in 250 schools, providing essential resources and implementing-driven solutions in our classrooms,” he said.
The Chairman who described the effort as a step toward fostering supportive learning environment, empowering both educators and students added that, JigawaUNITE is designed to enhance educational quality and accessibility for all 87,543 pupils in the initial 250 schools across 20 local governments areas in the state.
“In this current academic year, we have successfully distributed 247,597 academic materials to teachers and learners in the 250 JigawaUNITE schools across 20 local government areas. 194,380 academic materials were distributed in 1, while 53,217 academic materials were distributed in term 2,”.
Professor Musa then promised to ensure that every student in Jigawa has access to these vital resources, regardless of their background.
While delivering his speech, the Chairman School Base Management Committee (SBMC), of Ansaruddeen Primary School Kiyawa, Alhaji Salisu Ilu Kiyawa, commended governor Malam Umar Namadi for the effort and lauded JigawaUNITE for choosing their primary school to launch the distribution exercise.
The SBMC chairman, assured proper management of the distributed materials through monitoring to achieve the desired goals of improving learning and teaching activities in Jigawa.
Also speaking, the Chairman JigawaUNITE Alhaji Habeeb Saleh said, the programme aimed at improving digital transformation of education implemented throughout State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
