A three hundred level Computer Science student of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai (IBBUL) identified as Kelvin Danlami has committed suicide.
The sad incident occurred on Monday in Lapai when Kelvin from Suleja killed himself after mismanaging money entrusted to him for house rent due to his involvement in gambling, sources familiar with the incidents revealed.
It was reliably gathered that the student who wanted quick money allegedly used six hundred thousand naira entrusted to him by his landlord as caretaker in their lodge.
Sources said the deceased was devastated over the sudden disappearance of the funds, forcing him to commit suicide.
In a condolence message, the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, said it received with deep sorrow the sad news of the passing of Kelvin Danlami.
The Student Union Government (SUG) IBBU Lapai, General Secretary Comrade Aliyu Abubakar described Kelvin’s demise as a tragic and irreplaceable loss.
