Air Peace has announced disruptions to some of its scheduled flights on the Lagos-Port Harcourt and Abuja-Owerri routes.
In a statement on Wednesday, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the airline’s spokesperson, said adverse weather conditions reduced visibility on the Lagos-Port Harcourt and Abuja routes, resulting in unavoidable delays.
“Separately, the Abuja-Owerri service experienced a bird strike upon arrival in Owerri, requiring precautionary aircraft inspections,” Air Peace said.
“In all cases, our Operations and Maintenance teams acted promptly and in full compliance with regulatory safety standards to ensure the safety of our passengers and crew and a responsible return to normal operations.”
The airline apologised to affected passengers for the inconvenience caused and thanked them for their patience and understanding.
The incident comes barely a week after an Air Peace Lagos-Port Harcourt flight was disrupted by a bird strike.
The incident had occurred on January 22 upon arrival at the Port Harcourt International Airport, necessitating checks on the affected aircraft and the deployment of another plane to convey passengers on subsequent flights across the airline’s network.
