The Police Service Commission has announced that physical and credential screening for applicants seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force will commence on March 9, 2026.

The exercise, which covers the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables, will run until April 18, 2026, across states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

The commission disclosed this in a statement signed by its spokesman, Torty Njoku Kalu, and made available to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to the statement, only candidates who successfully completed the online registration process are eligible for the screening.

Applicants have been directed to log on to the recruitment portal to check their status and print key documents, including their invitation slip, guarantors’ form and screening forms, which must be presented at the screening venues.

The PSC listed mandatory items for the exercise to include the original National Identity Number printout or card, O’Level certificate, birth certificate or age declaration, and local government or state of origin certificate.

It added that applicants must neatly package original and duplicate copies of their credentials in two white flat files, with recent passport photographs attached.

Candidates are also expected to appear at their designated screening centres dressed in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts and white stockings.

The commission said the screening would hold at locations indicated on each applicant’s invitation slip.

Chairman of the PSC, Hashimu Salihu Argungu, assured applicants that the recruitment process is free and would be conducted transparently.
