Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Anti-Kidnapping, Human Trafficking, Child Abuse and Drug Abuse Initiative (AKH-TRACADA). Primate Belonwu Ezeanyaeche has congratulated Olatunji Disu on his appointment as the 23rd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, describing it as a well-deserved and expressed confidence in his capacity to deliver effective leadership for the nation’s police.
In a congratulatory letter sent to the acting IGP in Abuja Friday personally signed by him, Ezeanyaeche, who described the appointment as well-deserved, expressed confidence in Disu’s capacity to deliver effective leadership for the nation’s police.
He said he warmly congratulated Disu based on the fact that his track record of professionalism and service inspired confidence that he would perform excellently in the office and further strengthen the security architecture of the nation as a fine officer.
According to the letter, “On behalf of AKH-TRACADA, I write to congratulate you on your well-deserved appointment as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
“It is well deserved, and I express confidence in your capacity to deliver effective leadership for the nation’s police. I warmly congratulate you given the fact that your track record of professionalism and service inspires confidence that you will perform excellently in this office and further strengthen the security architecture of the nation as a fine officer.
“Sir, your appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, no doubt was a recognition of your professionalism, operational competence and years of meritorious service in the Nigeria Police Force.
“Truth be told, you have built an impressive career marked by leadership in critical operational units across the country. You served meritoriously as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos, where you tactically engaged in operations that significantly reduced crime, enhanced public safety and rapid intervention policing.
“As the head of Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Abuja, saddled with the responsibilities of tackling armed robbery, kidnapping, and other organized crimes nationwide, your activities were impactful, resulting in major breakthroughs in crime detection, suppression and effective policing.
“You also served as Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Rivers State Commands, where you distinguished yourself by providing effective leadership in coordinating policing operations within the commands and rejigging the security composition.
“Your professionalism and operational experience across tactical formations and strategic command positions, no doubt earned you this exalted position and not luck as insinuated in some quarters.
“I however, appeal for cooperation with you good office as AKH-TRACADA is committed to working closely with law-enforcement and security institutions to ensure that we collectively fight kidnapping, human trafficking, drug and child abuse.
“I wish you a successful tenure as you labour to protect lives and property through intelligence-led operations and partnerships” it concluded.
