Governor Uba Sani has announced that he has no preferred candidates among the aspirants competing for elective positions in the upcoming party primaries.

He made this statement during the breaking of the Ramadan fast with members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly on Tuesday night. He advised aspirants to seek the support of the people.

He pledged not to interfere with the primaries or the selection process that will determine the APC flag bearers in Kaduna State, but he promised to support the candidates chosen by the people.

“My advice to every aspirant seeking any office is to gain the support of party members. I have no anointed candidates in the upcoming primaries scheduled between April and May this year. I will abide by what the people decide,” he added.

According to the governor, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is his only candidate, and he has pledged to ensure Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.

He advised aspirants who do not succeed in the primaries to resist the urge to work against the party, as that would be counterproductive.

The Kaduna State Governor recalled a time during the previous administration when he was shortchanged in the APC congress, and many of his supporters were prevented from securing party positions.

“At that time, some people wanted me to work against the party. I told them I wouldn’t work against the house I helped build. As God will have it, I’m the Governor today.

I advise all party members to work toward the APC’s victory. The opposition will try to incite some members, especially after the primaries, because our party is the only one still standing. We should resist this temptation. The party belongs to all of us,” he added.

The governor cautioned that the opposition will use the country’s security challenges to campaign against the APC in the 2027 elections because they have nothing to offer.

He pointed out that the security situation in Kaduna State has improved since the current administration took office in 2023, though there is still room for further progress.

The governor recalled that his administration has reopened 535 schools and 85 health facilities that had been closed due to insecurity since he assumed office.

He also mentioned that the 35 Kilometres Bagoma-Gagumi road, which will connect 62 farming communities in Birnin Gwari Local Government, is under construction.

Governor Uba Sani added that a contract has been awarded for the construction of the Mando-Birnin Gwari road.
