We’ll set template for future conventions – Masari

Chairman National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Aminu Masari has assured that they will ensure the conduct of a convention that will be a standard for future exercises.

Masari gave the assurance on Friday during the inaugural meeting of the committee which took place in Abuja.

“Expectations of Nigerians and the people and the president is that we produce the best convention ever. The expectation is that we should also set a template for future conventions in the APC, and with the calibre of people in this committee, this expectation is almost given”.

Masari, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives also assured the party stakeholders that his committee will be fair and objective to ensure that the party will emerge more united ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He further said that his committee will work closely with the National Working Committee (NWC) and all relevant organs of the party for coordination and effective delivery of the exercise which he said will impact on the leadership and all members of the party.

Present at the meeting were the Vice Chairman 1, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, Secretary of the Committee and governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, governor of Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf, Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris Malagi and Hadiza Bala Dikko, amongst others.
