The Managing Director of Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), Dr. Abdullahi Baba Ahmed, has announced that 66 farming communities across Birnin Gwari Local Government Area will benefit from the ongoing 36km Bagoma-Gagumi road project.

During an inspection visit to the project site, Dr. Ahmed explained that this road project is a vital infrastructure initiative aimed at improving residents’ lives in the area.

“This road will link farmers to markets, residents to schools and hospitals, and is expected to make a significant impact on the local economy,” he stated.

According to Dr. Ahmed, the project forms part of the state government’s efforts to upgrade infrastructure and facilitate trade in the region. “Birnin Gwari is one of Nigeria’s leading maize-producing local governments, and this road will greatly improve transportation of produce and boost economic growth,” he added.

The road construction, carried out by CGC Nigeria Limited, is projected to be completed by year’s end, with the contractor promising to deliver ahead of schedule.

“We have mobilized more workers and are working around the clock to ensure timely completion,” said Mr. Wang Hongxi, Regional Manager for CGC Northern Nigeria.

The completion of the Bagoma-Gagumi road represents a major milestone in the state’s efforts to enhance infrastructure and promote economic development.

The government has assured residents that the project will meet high standards, with Dr. Ahmed emphasizing, “the quality of work is what has been determined, what has been designed.”

This project is part of a larger initiative by Kaduna State to construct 1,345 kilometers of roads across 20 local government areas. Governor Uba Sani has launched 150 projects, with 66 already finished.

The 66 farming communities set to benefit are expected to see notable improvements in their livelihoods, including better access to markets, schools, and healthcare. Additionally, the project is likely to generate jobs and stimulate economic activity in the region.

CGC Nigeria Limited has pledged to complete the project ahead of schedule, with Mr. Wang confidently stating they aim to finish by September. The state government has called on residents to cooperate with the contractor for a smooth completion.
