Reps. member lambasts President over insecurity

Date:

A member of the House of Representatives for Makurdi/Guma Federal constituency Hon. Emmanuel Jime has lambasted President Goodluck Jonathan for exhibiting incompetence in providing adequate security for Nigerians.

Hon. Jime, who made the criticism during a chat with newsmen at the weekend, maintained that the administration has not in any way shown to be responsible and responsive to the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians.

The Rep. member wondered why inspite of the support given to the President by the National Assembly, he has failed to deploy enough security personnel to rescue the abducted Chibok girls, frowning at the manner the President deployed a large retinue of security operatives to Ekiti and Osun for the just-concluded governorship elections in those states.

He also accused the President of deceiving Nigerians with colossal Gross Domestic index while in real sense Nigerians are languishing in abject poverty.

Jime, who is gunning for the governorship seat of Benue state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), decried that there is trust deficit in leadership, which he blamed on lack of character by our leaders.

He said the APC is poised to offer new breath of life to Benue people, adding that  the opposition is strong to take over realms of affairs of the State.

While promising to focus attention on human capital development as well as boost commercial agriculture, Jime lauded Sen. George Akume as the fulcrum of the APC in the State, averring that he is playing a fatherly role in providing a level playing ground for all the aspirants in the party.
